Our rug cleaning and repair workshops only clean rugs by hand. Cleaning rugs by hand can be a slow process, but it produces by far the best results and is the only safe method to clean fragile and antique rugs. Rugs are made by hand and every one of them is different; looking after and washing them requires a high level of attention to detail, which no machine could ever offer.
We clean all rugs using traditional methods and cleaning solutions to ensure natural dyes and yarns are maintained and protected during the process. Not only the rug will look clean, you will also notice the original, vibrant colours of the rug have returned. Each rug is thoroughly dusted before washing to ensure all dirt is removed and rugs are left to dry at their own pace: we don’t use any artificial sources of heat to speed up the drying process.
Our workshops can clean all types of oriental wool and silk rugs including Persian, Indian, Turkish, Chinese and Afghan to name a few. Whether your rug has suffered flood or fire damage, a pet accident or a spillage, or is simply due a routine wash please get in touch and we will be able to help you.
You will find recent examples of our cleaning and restoration work below and at the bottom of our home page.
